Mike Skinner Wins The 2007 Kroger 200 At Martinsville
Posted by Edge on October 20th, 2007 filed in NascarMike Skinner held off Jack Sprague in a wild, crash ridden race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday to win the Kroger 200 and get a bit closer to the points lead.
Cautions came early and often, with Dario Franchitti being black-flagged in his debut and Jacques Villeneuve being spun out late in the race. The wildest wrecks came at the end, with a multi-truck melee bringing out the red flag with seven laps to go.
Another crash occured while the leaders were crossing the start-finish line.
Points leaders Ron Hornaday finished third, followed by David Starr and Rick Crawford. Hornaday has an 11-point lead over Skinner, who won his fifth race of the season, in the standings.
Mike Bliss, Chad Chaffin, Ted Musgrave, Dennis Setzer and Johnny Benson rounded out the top 10.
