Hillary Clinton On US Attorney Dismissals

The Hildabeast has spoken. She spewed forth on Monday that the 8 U.S. attorneys were fired out of the Bush administration’s fear of scandal. She claims that the dismissals were unprecedented.



Of course, she dismisses comparisons to her husband’s firing of all 93 attorneys when he took office in 1993. Clinton:”That’s a traditional perogative of an incoming president.” So, tell me, just when does that perogative expire?

She also says that U.S. attorneys should be given broad latitude to enforce the law as they see fit. Clinton:”I think one of the hallmarks of our democracy is we have a devotion to the rule of law, which has historically included a degree of independence for U.S. attorneys to go after public corruption and pursue cases that are important to that constituency.” There’s that democracy word again. WE ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY!! We are a republic. Democracy is mob rule. See if you can find the word “democracy” anywhere in the Constitution!

Ninety-three US attorneys are scattered around the US, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other US territory. Each is the chief federal law-enforcement officer within his or her district. But all are political appointees, meaning they can be fired without cause by the president.

Mrs. Bill Clinton says she will likely fire all of the attoneys appointed by Bush should she win the presidency.

Clinton:” You can go on and on. I don’t think it’s a series of coincidences that the White House, in its waning years, is worried about the public corruption cases that have stalked it inside the White House and among the executive branch and the Republican Congress, that it would be moving to protect itself .”

The Whitehouse and Justice Department decided not to discuss reasons for the firings, probably because it is a personel issue and the fired attorneys deserve some privacy. Even if reasons were given, the left would spin it in the worse possible light on the Whitehouse. Liberals amaze me as they spin even non-issues into “lies, corruption”
