Dems Attempt To Screw Our Military

Well, the defeat invested Democrats finally did it. On Friday they squeaked through a 218-212 vote to set a deadline for troop withdrawal from Iraq. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi essentially bought the vote, adding pork barrel spending having nothing to do with the war in Iraq. Twenty-four billion dollars in bribes to win the vote of Democrats who appeared to have some sense about them!! Check out the money breakout here.

And it’s a bill that is going nowhere! What a freakin’ waste of time . The President is going to veto this bill if it gets out of the Senate. There are not enough votes to overturn his veto. So…why bother? Theatrics. Don’t the Democrats appear strong and brave standing up to this “warmonger”? That’s what it’s all about.

The Democrats don’t give a damn about our troops or the safety of the American people. It’s all about getting Bush! But Bush struck back.

President:”Here in Washington members of both parties recognize that our most solemn responsibility is to support our troops in the war on terror. Yet today, a narrow majority in the House of Representatives abdicated its responsibility by passing a war spending bill that has no chance of becoming law and brings us no closer to getting our troops the resources they need to do their job. The purpose of the emergency war spending bill I requested was to provide our troops with vital funding. Instead, Democrats in the House, in an act of political theater, voted to substitute their judgment for that of our military commanders on the ground in Iraq.”

Granted, the statement that both parties support the troops is a bit of a stretch. Look at the vote!!!

President:”They set rigid restrictions that will require an Army of lawyers to interpret. They set an arbitrary date for withdrawal without regard for conditions on the ground. And they tacked on billions for pet projects that have nothing to do with winning the war on terror. This bill has too much pork, too many conditions, and an artificial timetable for withdrawal.”

Stupidity flourishes….lawyers running a war? And setting a date for withdrawal simply allows the enemy to lean back in their lazyboys and wait for that date. Then they will get back to work.

President:”I will veto if it comes to my desk. And because a vote in the House was so close, it was clear that my veto would be sustained. Today’s action in the House does only one thing. It delays the delivery of vital resources for our troops. A narrow majority has decided to take this course just as General Petraeus and his troops are carrying out a new strategy to help the Iraqis secure their capital city. Amid the real challenges in Iraq, we’re beginning to see some signs of progress. Yet to score political points, the Democratic majority in the House has shown it is willing to undermine the gains our troops are making on the ground. Democrats want to make clear that they oppose the war in Iraq. They made their point. For some, that is not enough.”

If this funding is not approved by April 15, the military will be forced to cut back on support activities for our troops. The Democrats are playing games with the safety of our troops. These are sick, self-serving people. Why do the American people keep voting them in?

Democrats are invested in defeat. No success in Iraq is celebrated by these liberals. They’re invested in misery. As long as this President is in office, no true victory will be seen as victory by these people. Do you hear them celebrating the fact that we haven’t had a terrorist attack in America since 9/11. But listen to them squack if an attack does occur.
